The tour starts in Madrid, where you will explore the city's vibrant streets, and stand in awe of historical landmarks. You will visit the medieval city of Segovia with an awesome roman built aqueduct and a romantic castle. You will go on a walking tour in Toledo and visit a traditional steel factory. Then will stop to visit Garanda, the site of the famous Alhambra Palace, a lavish fortress built by Moorish kings in 889 AD. And you will have some time to swim and sunbathe along the shores of the Mediterranean at Marbella.
After Spain, you will cross the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco on the African continent by ferry. You will stop in Tangier with free time to explore on your own. Then in the morning, you will tour Chefchaouen, a city famous for its blue hues. In the afternoon you a scenic drive past the Rif Mountains to the old imperial city, Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Fez is a walled city, you stay overnight there. In the morning your guide will take you beyond the walls where you will see various Moroccan handicraft workshops, souks, and residential homes. Following Fez, you will travel to Marrakesh, another city, known for its vibrant open square with many souks, palm readers, traditional food stalls, snake charmers, and acrobats. Your local guide will take you to Berber village and enter one of the homes. On your last day in Morocco, You stop in Casablanca, Morocco's westernmost city and still known for the 1942 classic film with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.
On the way to Portugal, you cross the Strait of Gibraltar back to Spain and drive through Andalucia to the beguiling city of Seville. A local guide will take you to the Giralda Tower, Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de Espana and to see Christopher Columbus tomb in the world’s largest Gothic Cathedral. Following Seville, your journey continues through the countryside of Portugal into the golden fields of the Alentejo region, the gastronomic soul of Portugal.
